Camp Funston [December] 8 1917 Dear folks, I suppose you are worrying about me every minute so I will start one letter after another so maby one will reach you. We havnt lost but one case in our Co but the other Co just across the next tents they are loosing men right along. We are getting doctors now than we did had when we come here but we are simply freezing in these tents and very little to eat and without any fire and it was ten below zero last night out here. We have pleanty of bedding but in a tent where there is no fire it seams like not enough. I wish some of you would send me a pare of light fingered leather gloves to put under my other gloves I cant get to town to get any thing at all we are garded like leopercy cases

Now I want some of you to write every day because we dont hear any news out here where we are. We are all exposed to the Menigitus. They sure sprey our throats and noses twice a day and examine us three times and sometimes a day. Now what did dock ever do about that corn gathering pass is he going to get it for me or not if he does I will get to come home fifteen days Christmas and if he does not I will not get home till I come back from France, everybody is getting a corn shucking pass but me seams like. You know Dock could have San Sankey to write it up and Brad Harmon will sign it for he is signing them all alike. Now I will have to close and see If I can get some one to take this letter out.
