[page 2] The 42nd division are turning out their stuff to us to go to the states. I am glad to see them go for they did some good fighting. The third D are second in losses in the AEF. The 1 D is first. My company's causilities were out of two hundred and sixty men only thirty came back. I was one. am sending you some clippings from our army paper but they got my name crossed. They are not very good I was sick with the grip or something. I never had the Flew, a man that is use to gass and machine gun bullets a little thing like the Flew dosn't bother much. How is dad? How did he stand the winter. How is Frank R is he still going to school

[page 3] Why don't you people write. I receive more letter's from pearl Parlie and Marry Howard than all of my kind folks put together and I know you all don't write. A big sargants and I are going to Paris soon. His people lives there and he sure can show me all of the emportant places, he knows them all. Well I must close an go to bed. Red this clipping. answer for I like to get your letters better than all for there is some good advice in them. I read them to the boys and their hard faces look down and say nothing.
