August 28 1918 Somewhere in France Ha Ha. My birthday and lots of mail from home. Just received the snap-shot pictures of Frank and all of the dogs Jacks and cats on the place and they sure are fine. Frank is sure growing like a wead every day. I also received a letter from Mrs J R Ozias. Mrs Ozais seems to be still full of hope -, always telling something cute J.R. did. Do you get my mail often. I write real often when it is possible. I hear seldome from Anna

and very seldome from Mrs Infram. How is Annie making it and when will she graduate. Has Albert and Mrs Ingram ever been home latly. How is Mr Reed? Tell him I will bring him back a good Boche souvinier when I come home. Where is Wesley Athins and John Ball are they comming across soon. It may be that I can see some of them soon. I hear they are going to draft boys from 18 to 45 if so what kind of an army do you think my uncle will have- How long will it bee before Dock will have to come. How is Flodie I dont hear from her any oftener

[page 3] than the rest. Now for how I am getting along. I am back for a rest now going to school. This school is called an intelligent school lots of head work you must know There were Sixty men picked from this regiment and some how my co commander seen fit to reccomend me. It sure is the most interesting thing I ever ran up against. If I ever come back home I will have lots to tell that some of the boys wont. My Uncle Sam fit to raise my wages to $36.60 per month or 203 franks. I am sending some money home when ever I can.
