Somewhere in France August 7, 1918. My dear Sister. Just received a bunch of mail from home and also a lot of pictures of Frank and his dogs and all the pets on the place. Yes all of your letters gets across and reaches me O.K. The places that you spoke of are sure grand. How is Mr Ozias peach brandy? I hope he has some for me when I come home. Oh you wine and Champaigne every where you go "VIN CAFE HOTEL" you would think that was all there was in France and that is all there is if you leave out the medam mosells. Some pretty churches you know. Now for my self. I am fine and having a fully good time when ever I can. We were allowed a 4 day furlough when we came back from the front. I am now in the 3 btd. intelligent section of the 4th infantry My work is easy and is a great schooling. Must close, write often I receive your letters OK From your brother John.
