215 E. Culton, Warrensburg, [Missouri], June 20, 1918. My dear Lelia: I have been promising myself every day this week that I would write to you. How is this hot weather serving you? You can't imagine what a nice trys you missed last week. William was very much disappointed and so were the other boys. The boys with whom he works want to see you real badly, they have heard so much

about you. "C". I told them I would come back this fall and bring you. You see those boys are all non-commissioned officers and are stationed at Fort Riley for good. William says he wont have to leave there at all so far as he knows now. Isn't that great? We are going home Friday. Wish you and Roscoe could come down Sat. night or Sunday. I could tell you about camp better than write it. We get four days vacation week after next. We go to school next Saturday and they give us the 4th and 5th of July. I'm real glad as it's so hot I think a vacation will do us good. I have a lot of work to do this afternoon so I'll be ready to home. It's awful the way they work us here but thank goodness it will soon be over. Sincerely, Helen.
