Eldorado, [Illinois] [April] 23 Dear Mother- Your letter came yesterday and I can't quite understand the Liberty Bond I have no Liberty bond and I am sure no one has thot enough of me to give me one. I have read the thing over a dozen times thinking it possibly was an advertizment or something- I feel as if surely it was a mistake. I haven't very much news again. School about the same and will be out in about 1 month (May 31) I am elected back as you will see I $133 per month. I think it quite an increase but they strange to say think they have a fine teacher - See I haven't been here long. So you hear from John real often. I'm very glad he gets a little something that will come in handy in time of need. I remember his saying he was going to do something that he wouldn't have to work all his days. He hasn't written to me since I came

back - I have heard from Ann twice since I returned. You may be interested in knowing R. L. Thompson has been to [Illinois] to see me - He's not half bad. Was attorney for a big oil suit and won, netting him a 10,000 fee. He says not to buy Texas oil stock unless you buy a controlling interest. I hope you will have plenty of radishes when I get home. I still eat like a [Missouri] hound-dog yet and weigh 125. I'll close - Sister send to me by return mail that blue silk suit I left in the closet, the one with ruffles. Now dont put it off - it isn't very good but I need it. Cora
