Andersen, Hans Peter Collection
Dr. Hans Peter Andersen was a physician who worked in the laboratory at Washington University Medical School in St. Louis during World War I. This collection includes correspondence written in Danish between Andersen and his family in Denmark. Letters exchanged between colleagues in the U.S. Army Medical Corps are also included. Most of these are from medical student Bert C. Ball who was serving in France with Base Hospital 21. After the war Andersen practiced medicine in St. Mary and Bloomsdale, Mo.
