Shoulder Insignia of the 35th Division

Details

Title Shoulder Insignia of the 35th Division
Description The patches depicted here are only a small sample of color variations of the 35th Division insignia. The motif changed with each regiment and subsequent units customized the design as well. Known as a Santa Fe Cross, the design was used as a marker on the Santa Fe Trail, where early incarnations of the 35th Division trained. Members of the division adopted the symbol in 1917 as their own. Shortly after, the design was officially approved by the Army and has remained in use during different incarnation of the 35th Division, now known as the 35th Infantry Division.
