Description | Distinguished Service Medal presented to Colonel Frank M. Rumbold for meritorious service during World War I. As an officer in the Missouri National Guard, Rumbold commanded the 128th Field Artillery, 35th Division. He was slightly wounded during the Battle of the Argonne Forest on September 30, 1918. Colonel Rumbold earned the medal for his work expanding the National Guard during the war and cooperating with the Regular Army. |
