Description | This pocket watch was carried overseas with James Virgil Thomas from Willard, Missouri. Thomas was a pilot with Squadron L based out of San Diego, California. He died during a transcontinental air race used to promote the air service in 1919. This pocket watch is beautifully inlaid on its outside case and was manufactured by the Macy’s company and sold in their LaForge and Valentine Jewelry Departments. |
