Title | MG08 Machine Gun |
Description | Hiram S. Maxim developed the original Maschinengewehr in 1884, and by 1914 many variations on the gun had been produced. The gun was officially adopted by Germany in 1908 and by the start of WWI the MG08 became the standard machine gun for German infantry divisions. The gun was also adapted for use on aircraft and as an anti-tank weapon. This version is synonymous with the infantry variation due to the bipod mount. |
