| Description | Naval Aviator uniform and cap worn by St Louis native Montague Lyon Jr. The Naval Aviation Corps rejected Lyon 11 times because of a foot injury he sustained playing basketball at Soldan High School. Lyon attended Washington University before being accepted by the Naval Aviation Corps. Lyon was at flight school in Miami, Florida when the war ended in November 1918. |
