Title Liberty Memorial Medal
Description This medal commemorates the November 1, 1921 groundbreaking ceremony of the Liberty Memorial in Kansas City, Missouri. The medal features the relief figure of Liberty walking across a battlefield. The inscription on the back reads, “To Forever Perpetuate The Courage, Loyalty And Sacrifice Of The Patriots Who Offered And Who Gave Their Services Their Lives And Their All In Defense Of Liberty And The Nations Honor During The World War/Souvenir Dedication Of Site Liberty Memorial 1921.” Dignitaries who attended the ceremonies included commander of the American Expeditionary Force General John J. Pershing and Marshal Ferdinand Foch of France. President Calvin Coolidge dedicated the memorial on November 11, 1926.
