Phelps County Monument to WWI Veterans

Description

Originally erected in 1923 by the people of Phelps County under the supervision of Noah Coleman Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, this large monument to Phelps County WWI Veterans has undergone several restorations, but today stands in striking contrast other WWI era memorials that have degraded dramatically. The monument consist of a large pink granite pillar in the center, with a bronze plaque on its face, topped by a bronze eagle, and flanked by smaller dedication plaques.
