World War I Photographs in Palmyra

This collection features photographs taken in Palmyra, Mo. during World War I.  Photos of a Red Cross parade vividly illustrate how one community in Missouri supported the war effort.  There are also several images related to the formation of the Boots-Dickson American Legion Post.  The post honored Wade Boots who was killed in France on November 3, 1918.  Included in the collection are photographs of a Red Cross parade in Palmyra during 1918, and several images related to the formation of the Boots-Dickson American Legion Post. The post was partially named after Wade Boots, who was killed in France on November 3, 1918.
