O'Neill, Harry C. Collection

O’Neill:

Harry O’Neill served as sergeant of Battery C, 129th Field Artillery during World War I. This collection includes his diary which outlines his military experiences. The diary spans from his training at Camp Doniphan, Oklahoma in 1917 to his service overseas in France in 1918 and finally his discharge in 1919. O’Neill’s diary includes accounts of his experiences during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive and being gassed. His diary concludes with his return home to Kansas City, Missouri in September of 1919.
