Koch, Joseph Collection

Major Joseph Koch, a St. Louis resident, served during the Punitive Expedition in Mexico with the First Missouri Infantry. During World War I, Major Koch was severely wounded in his left leg during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive while serving with the 35th Division, 137th Infantry. This collection consists of photographs compiled by Koch detailing his service on the Mexican Border as well as photographs Koch gathered from a German soldier. Also included are Koch’s military records and correspondences concerning his service and retirement.
