Honor Roll of Greene County Missouri

The Greene County Honor Roll was created by the citizens of Greene County, Missouri to honor those who served in World War I. In late 1918 and early 1919 the Springfield Missouri Republican newspaper ran ads soliciting images and biographical information from Greene County service members to be included in a “permanent record” of service. There was no charge for inclusion, and not all Greene County service members answered the call for inclusion, but a great many did, and their service records are preserved in this collection.
