Cookingham, L. Perry Collection
Laurie Perry Cookingham served in France and Germany with the 310th Field Signal Battalion, 85th Division. This collection consists of a diary, letters, and photographs, from his service and includes Cookingham's powerful recollection of the armistice on November 11, 1918. After the war he returned to Kansas City, Mo. where he became the city manager in 1940, a position he held for nineteen years. After a long successful life, Cookingham passed away at the age of 96 in Kansas City.
