Title Housewife Kit of Joseph J. Koch
Description Joseph J. Koch served in the Missouri National Guard and was commissioned as a First Lieutenant of the 1st Infantry Regiment. He participated in Pershing’s expedition into Mexico, was later promoted to Major and was wounded in action during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. This so-called “Housewife” kit, contained all the materials a soldier would need to mend and stitch their uniforms during service. This example belonged to Joseph J. Koch.
